"Great grain bars"

by A. A , WALKER, MI on Mar. 2007

My son loves these homemade nutritional bars. I didn't have any raisinets, but used golden raisins, and about a quarter cup of peanut butter, and drizzled chocolate syrup on top for a decorative touch after they were out of the oven. A quick, tasty treat or as a breakfast bar!

My husband loves oatmeal and raisins. I didn't have any chocolate covered raisins...so I put 1/2 raisins & 1/2 Nestle chocolate morsels, mixed, baked and they came out great!

Great recipe!

This is a delicious snack! I've used other recipes for oatmeal bars in the past, but I like this recipe best. Substituting chocolate chips for the Raisinets would be a nice alternative sometimes too.

I used the idea and made a hit!

by L. Linda , Portland, OR on Aug. 2005

I needed some regular cookie type cookies not bar cookies so I stole your idea and put the raisinettes in my favorite oatmeal cookie recipe instead of raisins. They were a real hit at my work picnic and with my husband. Now he wants me to bake more and he's normally not a real cookie muncher. Thanks for the great idea!!
