Not really shortbread

by L. Lin , FaRmInGdaLe, NY on Dec. 2006

This wasn't really shortbread. The variation changed it too much. I will say that they were GREAT with a cup of coffee in all fairness. If you like coffee and want to try an interesting recipe, this is the one for you. It is very tasty. If you love shortbread and want a shortbread recipe, try something else.

Mocha Shortbread Cookies

by C. Camille , MORGANTOWN, IN on Oct. 2005

This is a fabulous twist to an old favorite cookie. We are scottish and have an annual scottish themed holiday party each year and we always serve shortbread cookies, but this year there will be a companion cookie, mocha shortbread. This is the best of both worlds for the chocoholic, of which I am one. My friends will adore these as much as I do I have no doubt. As for the Scarlet O'Hara once said, "Tomorrow is another day!" - Camille

easy but good

My wife, who isn't a sweet eater, really liked this as not too sweet. My daughter who is a sweet eater liked it as well for the mocha taste.

Good with coffee

by j. judith , DOVER, DE on Apr. 2005

This is an average recipe ... worth making if you want something special to serve with coffee. When mixed, the dough looks like very fine crumbs so it needs to be firmly pressed into the baking pan. Not really a good example of what shortbread should taste like.

mmmmm shortbread ala cappachino flavored

by p. paula , DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI on Jan. 2005

What a wonderful marrage of flavors in a shortbread. This was made for newyears, paired with vanillia bean icecream, and whipped topping. Not only is it a great cookie, but it is a wonderful base for other desserts. This one stays in the family favorites journal.

Excellent Shortbread

by R. Roslyn , Ashford, CT on Dec. 2004

I made these cookies Thanksgiving weekend for the upcoming holidays. These are great and very easy to do. I actually doubled the recipe very easily and my husband went crazy over them. I actually had to make another batch because he eat so many of them. This will definitely be a recipe I will keep making.
