Chocolate Walnut Jam Bars feature a wonderfully delicious thin layer of fruit jam layered between a brown sugar crust and the walnut-flavored topping. Melted chocolate chips are spread over the top to finish these bars off. Perfect for all occasions.

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup seedless raspberry jam or apricot preserves
  • 2 cups finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, divided

PREHEAT oven to 375° F. Grease 13x9-inch baking pan.

BEAT butter and brown sugar in small mixer bowl; beat in 1-3/4 cups flour. Press onto bottom of prepared baking pan.

BAKE for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

SPREAD jam over crust. Combine walnuts and sugar in small bowl; set aside 2 tablespoons for topping. Beat eggs until light in large mixer bowl; beat in remaining walnut mixture, 2 tablespoons flour and vanilla extract. Stir in 1 cup morsels. Pour over crust.

BAKE for 20 to 25 minutes or until top is set. Immediately sprinkle remaining morsels over top. Let stand for 5 minutes until morsels are shiny; spread. Sprinkle with reserved walnut mixture. Cool; refrigerate for 10 minutes to set chocolate.

Makes about 4-1/2 dozen 1-inch bars.

Raspberry and semi-sweet chocolate - a winning combination at our home. Easy to make, and if you are short on time, the bottom layer can be baked one day, and the remaining layers the next.

This was such a simple recipe and that's just what I needed the day I made them. And fast! I added just a sprinkle of coconut on the top and this one was a hit! Everyone enjoyed and asked for the recipe! Thanks.

They were very good, but I would not say they are quick to make. I used strawberry preserves will try again with another flavor.

Chocolate Lovers' Yummy!

This is a great recipe. Loved making it, baking it, and even embleshing on it. I make my own jam and used my berry jam instead of store jam. Next time I'm going to try it with my Apricot jam. My husband went back for seconds, and we had a neighbor over for dinner and she also went back for 2nds and asked to take some home. Excellent recipe, and I think it would make a great bake sale item. I've added this recipe to my private collection and it ranks a 10 (highest!) Thanks to contributor! Cudos!!!! A+++++

These bars were great! If you are a chocolate lover than these are for you. I made them with the raspberry jam and they were great and easy to make. I also made them for a school bake sale and they were the first to sell out!!
