I just started a home based baking business and I received an order for chocolate engagement party cupcake favors. My boyfriend and I NEVER eat chocolate cupcakes so I came to the internet to find a recipe. I made the recipe with the exact measurements and directions; I did sift the flour and cocoa powder 2X. After turning them into sunflowers, I was told to change NOTHING about this recipe! These cupcakes had the perfect amount of cocoa powder and SUPER moist. I am VERY thankful that I found the ultimate chocolate cupcake recipe on the first try.

Best chocolate cupcakes EVER

by L. Lisa , WENTZVILLE, MO on Oct. 2007

I make this recipe at least 6 times a year. My family is always sad to see the last cupcake get eaten. These are moist, tender and delicious. They turn out well every single time. Additionally, the frosting is easy and tastes great. After mixing it the first time, refrigerate to let the mixture get cold, then whip it right before using. Makes the frosting airy and light. A definate winner!

I got a call about noon from another mother, reminding me to bring my contribution for the library fundraiser after school. I completely forgot and had nothing ready. My hands were full with my toddler daughter. I felt rushed since school got out at 2pm. This recipe saved me. It was so easy to follow. It took me less than 7 minutes to put everything together! The homemade frosting was perfect, very fluffy and smooth. I couldn't believe I could put together such wonderful tasting cupcakes in such short time. The kids loved them and so did the parents, even with the gummi worms!

Rich Chocolate Cupcake

I made these cupcakes yesterday. The cupcake is very moist but I was a little disappointed in the frosting. Next time I'll use dark chocolate and see how that works.

My daughter is a chocoholic and we made these for her birthday party and they were a hit. So moist. The next time I made them I put a peanut buter filling in them for that peanut butter/chocolate taste that is her favorite. A keeper!!

This recipe was very easy to make but it didn't catch my eye. I thought that it was going to be more moist then it really is. But I will definitely make it again and maybe add chocolate chips to the batter or more butter.
