Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pkg. (16.5 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Bar Dough, broken into pieces
  • 1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease 8-inch-square baking pan.

COMBINE nuts, flour and cinnamon in medium bowl. Add cookie dough; mix well. Reserve ½ cup cookie dough mixture. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of prepared baking pan. Spread jam over dough.

ROLL out reserved dough on lightly floured surface into 8 x 5-inch rectangle. Cut lengthwise into 10 strips. Lay half the strips over jam, about 1 inch apart. Lay remaining strips crosswise over the first strips.

BAKE for 25 to 30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Serve warm or cool completely.

This wasn't difficult - just time consuming. I got rave reviews from all who ate it! We preferred it warm with whipped cream rather than served cold.

First try was good but don't like raspberry. Second try was blueberry & very good. Third try was peach & very good. Guess you can use any fruit and taste is still good.

My husband, children and grandchildren love these bars. I alternate apricot almond preserves and blueberry preserves to make them and it seems no matter how many I make, there is not enough. Easy and delicious recipe. Great for holiday get togethers.

LOVE THESE YUMMY BARS

Using cookie dough was a snap! This was a big hit. I used my old TRACING WHEEL - you know the tool we all used a hundred years ago in HOME ECONOMICS to trace patterns onto fabric? Well I scrubbed mine clean years ago (after only using it for fabric once or twice in 7th grade) and have used it to trim lattice for pies ever since. It works like a dream!!! Try it you will definitely be glad you did. It makes a perforated edge that you can pull apart and has an interesting edge to it. It is PERFECT for these bars too. For Christmas I will sprinkle some green colored sugar on top of the lattice cookie dough strips for seasonal color!
