Chocolate Dipped Almond Cookies

Description

These cookies come together in a snap since it uses refrigerated cookie dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (16.5 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Bar Dough, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1 cup (6 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 325°F.

COMBINE cookie dough and almonds in medium bowl. Refrigerate 15 minutes for easier handling. Shape dough into 20 1-inch balls; place on ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE for 16 to 18 minutes or until light golden brown around edges. Cool on baking sheets on wire racks for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

LINE baking sheets with wax paper. Microwave morsels in a small, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 1 minute; STIR. The morsels may retain some of their original shape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10 to 15-second intervals, stirring just until smooth. Dip cookies halfway into chocolate; shake off excess. Place on prepared baking sheets; refrigerate for 15 minutes or until coating is set.

Very Kid Friendly!! Using NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Bar Dough makes it so quick and clean to prepare. And then watching the kids dip them into the NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels and try to keep the chocolate on the cookies and not there faces is about the messiest this recipe gets. Besides, while making them with kids may make your prep time a little bit longer, but this is one case where taking a bit longer is so rewarding! This recipe gets the "Kids Approval" of 5 Chocolate Chips!

Looks pretty and taste great and is a nice accompaniment to hot tea or hot chocolate. A great cookie to serve at a ladies luncheon. Also makes a great cookie for cookie swaps and/or gift giving.

Try shaping the cookie as a half moon crescent and then dip. You can also omit the almonds and make them plain, dip in chocolate and add colored sprinkles on them. Kids loves to make them. We held a Chocolate Festival and this cookie went over very well.
