What a wonderful, easy recipe ... and to think it all starts with a cake mix. The mixture of coconut, chocolate and pecans made for great eating and very little effort. I think the sweetened condensed milk is the "secret ingredient".

More Chocolate Bits Would Be Fine

by S. Sue , MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA on Jan. 2006

This was a pot-luck hit. I dutifully followed the recipe, limiting the chocolate bits to 6 oz. thinking perhaps it would be too sweet to include more. But the result was not too sweet and a full cup of chocolate bits would have been fine as well.

This is a great and easy way to pep up a cake mix and make it taste like you made it from scratch. My family loves these and friends think I spent a lot of time on them.
