  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

BAKE for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

I made a batch of these for my "official tasters" and they were a hit .. even with the tasters who want nuts and had to do without in these. Really good - and pretty - cookies.

This recipe has become a favorite of my family. I often will take some to work and my co-workers beg for more. I once made them for my husband to take to work and within seconds the batch was gone. The distinct flavors come together so well. I would totally recommend this recipe especially if you are looking to bake something outside of the traditional chocolate chip cookies.

Only changes I made were to increase the FRESH ORANGE ZEST (not that dehydrated jarred junk) to 1 1/2 TBS and added orange food coloring to enhance the visual. These were exceptionally good and I'm usually pretty critical....consider that a compliment !

I made a double batch of the Orange Chip Cookies for my sister in law to bring to a cookie swap and these just may be the best cookies I have ever made from your site! My husband tried one and said that they tasted just like an Orange Creamsicle Cookie. The one change that I made was I used regular butter instead of unsalted, it just made them taste that much more delicious. You guys have scored a huge winner with this one! This has become a regular "must make" cookie for my family!
