Mac & Cheese is a standard favorite, but we have mixed it up with this Penne Pasta with Sun-dried Tomato Cream Sauce recipe. We’ve made traditional cheese sauce with Carnation Evaporated Lowfat 2% Milk and changed-up the cheese and pasta while adding sun-dried tomatoes for a luscious Mac & Cheese inspired dish.

I made this last night and with a side of greenbeans it was fantastic. The flavors mixed so well and the creamsause was amazing even before I added the sun-dried tomatos. I will definatley make this again and I am looking foreword to the left overs.

After reading previous reviews I only used 1/2 a can of evaporated milk & 1/2 can drained diced tomatoes instead of sun dried. It was delicious & there weren't any leftovers in my house.

Beyond Mac N Cheese

This is so not your grandma's mac n cheese! This is beyond delicious.....so creamy, so full of flavor. The only that I changed was to add grilled chicken to make this a one dish meal. My company was amazed and said they felt like they were in a fancy Italian restaurant.
Don't buy bottled Alfredo sauce - this is quick, easy and tastes MUCH better!

I MAKE IT LAST NIGHT.I USE WHAT EVER FOUR CHEESE BLEND I FIND.I AND SHRIMP TO MINE.IT WAS SO GOOD.MY KIDS LOVE IT WITH THE SHRIMP.

Yes, I played with it a little too. The sauce is a little watery, but it helps to reheat the next day. Since I don't like sun-dried tomatoes, I just broiled sliced tomatoes and used that instead. I also added some frozen peas and my homemade meatballs! And, fresh basil is always better if you have some handy. After the add-ins, it turned out really good!

Ok, so I also tweaked the recipe a little. I always eat whole wheat pasta, so I made it with that, and I also added chicken and mushrooms. That way it made a heartier meal. It was much better that way. I also made a little extra pasta because I read that the sauce was too much for only 8 oz. Overall, this was simple and good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I added some ingredients that were not listed.

This was delicious! Everyone in my family loved this dish! I took the idea from others and added chicken which made it more of a full meal. I doubled the recipe and nothing was left! It tasted like it was from a restaurant! This is a keeper!

Everytime I make this, I get compliments and have given out the recipe countless times. I always add grilled chicken breast to mine and it's a nice filling meal VS a side dish.
