Description

Gooey-Layered Baby Ruth Brownies are a perfect creepy, crawly Halloween treat or just great for a special surprise dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. (18.25 oz.) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1 cup NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk, divided
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
  • 5 (2.1 oz. each) NESTLÉ BABY RUTH Candy Bars, coarsely chopped
  • 2 pkgs. (1.5 oz. each) gummy bugs

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350° F.

COMBINE cake mix and peanuts in large bowl. Stir in 2/3 cup evaporated milk and butter (batter will be thick). Spread half of batter into ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan (layer will be thin).

BAKE for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, melt chopped Baby Ruth and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk in small saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted. Drizzle over brownie base to within 1/2-inch of edge.

DROP remaining batter by heaping teaspoon over melted candy bar mixture.

BAKE for 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars using wet knife. Awesome served warm, but great at room temperature too. Top with gummy bugs before serving.

I made these brownies for my family, and they were a huge hit. I left off the gummy sweet tarts. Very easy to mix up and bake.

I made these because I wanted a sweet snack to bring to work and to send with my husband to his work....I must admit that I did leave off the gummy bugs. Otherwise, it was wonderful.

Mr. Nestle's Good Bar

Boy this was great. Mr. Nestle's Good Bars, all the kids that came by the shop and tried some liked them and wanted more. It is not a simple cookie/bar to make, but well worth the work and smiles from the kids.

Rich and yummy!

Gooey and delicious! I was very impressed with these delightful brownies. I had never before melted down candy bars to include in a brownie, and I will certainly be sure to make this one again! A huge hit!
