Tasty and easy to make, these SWIRLED™ Surprise Cookies are a perfect treat for any occasion. Drizzle chocolate over the tops of the cooled cookies to create attractive designs that add a special flair.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup quick oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® SWIRLED™ Milk Chocolate & Caramel Morsels, divided
  • 1/2 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Milk Chocolate Morsels

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

COMBINE flour, oats, baking soda and salt in medium bowl. Beat brown sugar, butter, granulated sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 3/4 cup SWIRLED™ Morsels. Cover; refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm.

ROLL dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheets. If dough balls become warm, refrigerate until firm.

BAKE for 8 to 10 minutes or until sides are set. Press 1/2-inch deep and quarter-size wide pockets into centers of cookies with back of small spoon. Fill pockets with remaining SWIRLED™ Morsels while cookies are still warm. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

PLACE milk chocolate morsels in small, heavy-duty plastic bag. Microwave on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 30 seconds; knead to mix. Microwave at additional 10-second intervals, kneading until smooth. Cut a small hole in corner of bag; squeeze to drizzle over cookies.

Mmmmm, this is good...

My teenage son was asking for chocolate chip cookies. This recipe caught my attention because of oatmeal. It also looked easy. He doesn't care for oatmeal and I've been secretly mixing it in his meals when I can... sometimes he catches me, but not in these cookies! "Mmmmm, this is good..." and the cookie was gone in a second. I'm going to make these again with different flavored morsels. I already have some ideas on how I want to decorate them. They will be perfect for holiday seasons!

Very good! love the fact that they have oatmeal in them. Took them to a get together and they were gone before the chocolate chip cookies. I've already sent this recipe to several friends. Very easy to make.

My neighbors went out of town and I was watching their teenage boys. The boys went wild with the cookies and ate them all during the night. I guess you can call this recipe at keeper

Several of the woman from church and myself are making over 600 dozen cookies for the Labor Day Holiday coming up. These are among the several I've selected to make. I have lots of dough premade, and baked up a few for my husband to "try", and he loved these. I know our cookie booth will be a hit with all of the NESTLE cookie recipes we are making............

JUST PERFECT

I HAVE MADE THESE IN THE PAST, FOR CHRISTMAS AND SUCH. SOMETIMES I ADD A LITTLE BIT OF JARED CHERRIES THAT I CUT UP UNDER THE KISS. MY GUEST SAY WOW, THATS DIFFERENT.

I made these cookies last night because I felt like baking and everyone loved them. Especially my husband and my brother. They have a great, swet taste that is not over powering. I plan on using this recipe with the other cookies I make for the holidays. Delicious!
