where is the apple taste?

by H. HEIKE , TX on May. 2010

First it bubbled over and made a sticky smoky mess in my oven. The pie itself smelled and looked good, but I am missing the apple taste, too much butterscotch flavor.

Different twist apple pie

by S. Sharion , Windsor, NC on Mar. 2010

I would never have thought to put butterscotch morsels in the mix. I loved the results I got. My four grown men loved this pie. My husband loves apple pie but not with butterscotch. He loves macadamia nuts so I will have to make his different! Great job!

Delicious and Yummy

by D. Debbye , FRONT ROYAL, VA on Nov. 2007

This pie was so delicious. I really loved the flavor of the Macadamia Nuts in this pie. The pie did not last long at all in my house. Next time I will have to make two because everyone wanted seconds.

Spice it up!

by M. MARCIA , COVENTRY, RI on Oct. 2007

I brought this pie in to work for something different during "pie week". It's different, but I find it a bit blah. I added 1/2 t cinnamon instead of the called for 1/4 t, but if I make it again, I would add more cinnamon or maybe some pumpkin pie spice.

We used this for a Bake Sale

by D. Denise , CANBY, OR on Sep. 2006

This pie has great flavor, and sold well at a by-the-slice bake sale. When I chopped the nuts, I left them rather large, and I found them distracting. Next time, I would chop/grind them much smaller so the caramel apple flavor would be the first flavor to hit the tongue.

Good Stuff

by m. michelle , ROCHESTER, NY on Jan. 2006

I had my son over for dinner and decided to try out this pie. It was very easy to make and we both loved it with ice cream on top!

Ladies Loved It!

by D. Debbie , Georgetown, ON on Oct. 2005

My husband took it in to work for a pot luck lunch and more than 1/2 the ladies wanted the recipe! It was a big hit.

The "Apple" of my eye!

by J. JAN , Blytheville, AR on Sep. 2005

My husband has a small produce market, and he always has apples...so I made this apple pie over the weekend. Unfortunately, I did not have Macadamia nuts on hand, so I substituted chopped Pecans. Anyway, it was still very, very good, and he has requested it for Thanksgiving dinner.
