A simple can of condensed tomato soup becomes a restaurant-quality Cream of Tomato Soup with the addition of Carnation Evaporated Milk.


  • NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk, amount per can directions
  • 1 can of your favorite condensed tomato soup


SUBSTITUTE Carnation Evaporated Milk for regular milk or water called for on the label.

NOTE: For Quick Cream of Tomato Soup with less fat, use Carnation Evaporated Lowfat Milk or Carnation Evaporated Fat Free Milk.

I changed this up a little: I sauteed bacon and leeks, drained off the fat and added diced tomatoes and evap milk. Add a little pepper and YUMMY!!

Years ago in the 50's early 60's this is how my dad made the soup. Since than that is how I make mine and taught my son the same thing. Makes it creamier and richer tasting. On a cold day it is so good. Even on a warm day, warms my tummy and makes me feel good.

I love cream of tomato soup on a cool evening. I warms me up like no other meal in the world. I was really surprised to see this recipe just like how I make the soup myself. I always add 3/4 of a can of milk to my soup to make it extra creamy. I was looking to see if someone made it any different. good to see that great minds think alike.

I have always loved the creamy, wholesome taste the undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk gives my canned Tomato Soup. I had my Grandchild over and we had Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. She wanted some crackers, to dip in her soup. She told me that I might be disgusted by how she was going to eat them, and I told her, not to worry, eat them anyway you want. She dipped the crackers in her soup, and I dunked my Grilled Cheese in mine, she said yuck! I told her to try it, she might like it. So she did, and now she's a Grilled Cheese dipper as well! She doesn't even ask for crackers anymore! Please don't ever stop making Carnation Evaporated Milk! You'll break this old lady's heart!

This is a quick, delicious soup that even my husband can make. The Carnation milk makes the soup creamy. I also like to add canned diced tomatoes to this. A keeper!!
