Pumpkin Butter

Yields: 32 servings (1 tablespoon per serving)


Pumpkin Butter is easy to make and a delicious change from butter for bread or muffins.


  • 1 can (15 ounces) LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves


COMBINE pumpkin, sugar, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves in medium, heavy-duty saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring frequently, for 20 to 25 minutes or until thickened. Serve with biscuits, breads and corn muffins. Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 months.

Recipe makes 2 cups.

I have bought Pumpkin Butter in the past and was excited to find a recipe for it. I made this and it was easy to make and so delicious on hot biscuits at breakfast.

I made the pumpkin butter yesterday. I tasted it this morning, putting several spoon fulls over my steel cut oats cereal, along with sauted apples. WOW, delicious, so good, easy to make. I'm planning on making this again this week to give to friends and family as gifts.

I've been making apple butter for years and I wanted to try pumpkin butter this year. This recipe sounded quick and easy so I went with it. Glad I did. My husband and all three of my children love it! The only thing I did differently is add about 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg. This recipe has already been added to my favorites!

This was my first time making this pumpkin butter recipe.It was so fast to make and tasted so good and delicious. This was the best. I made this with an extra can of pumpkin I had in the cupboard. I always buy extra when it is on sale. My husband and I had this with cottage cheese. We thought apple butter and cottage cheese was great but I don't think I will go back to apple butter again. I can wait to make some more of this. I sent this recipe to one of my daughters. Can't wait to hear what she has to say. Hey People Try the cottage cheese with the pumpkin butter. It is great healthy eating.

I couldn't remember if I had ever written a review about this recipe but every time I see it, it reminds me just how easy it is to make and delicious it is. I love that it can be refrigerated for extended periods of time also. An absolute must try!!!
