I love to bake and am working to bring this love to my children as well. For the past few years I have been collecting recipes from family that have been passed down and also recipes that I have found and loved from ingredient boxes and on line. My oldest son and I decided to start photographing us making our favorite recipes. When we are done, which will take quite a while I'm thinking, we will put these all into a book with the recipe matching each picture. I thought the grandparents and great grandparents who've passed on these recipes might like to see the young ones in action. So far the pictures are great! I cannot wait to see the finished product.

I did this a couple of years ago on the Kodak site. The finished product was bound like a book. I did all baking recipes and used a holiday theme for them. My husband helped me take the pictures, and we used props from each holiday, and covered a big box as a background with a tablecloth. A copy went to my two children (both grown) and my nieces. Later I ordered another copy for my daughter's mother in law and one for a good friend. They asked me to sign the books. Everyone appreciated my "personalized cookbook"..

This is a work of love and a wonderful thing to past on and will go on forever just like those memories....I have been doing the same thing for a while without anyone knowing and the first time my kids saw it they were totally taken back ...We all sat for hours looking at it and talking about . So enjoy your cook book and those memories.........

My wife's sister did this on the computer and printed out the pages in color depending on the type of food. Good idea.

Excellent idea! We have family reunions every 2 years and one year my cousin who organizes them, had us all send in a favorite recipe. She put them all together in a book and gave them out at the reunion. Thanks for sharing your story!.

What a great idea. I've had times when I wish I had a recipe of something a friend made and thinking I had time to get it from her, but I didn't. She passed away before I could ask her to write them down for me. Lord knows I miss her and the excellent food that she made..
