When I was six years old my mom and I baked a carousel birthday cake. I remember the horses were animal cracker horses. Their poles were cut straws, We were all so wide-eyed because back in the fifties you couldn't just bring in a picture and have a cake reproduced.

This cake took creativity and imagination - thanks mom!
