I can remember as a child being snowed in for days here in Michigan. One evening setting by the fireplace and watching Lawerence Welk we seen the ad for the Nestle Toll House cookies. Course my sister and I wanted those and daddy added a glass of milk would go wonderful with those. Soon we noticed momma was missing from the room and we began to get wifts of those warm cookies baking and a race to the kitchen began. I can remember the warmth from the oven and antisapation of being able to savour those delicious cookies. Only on rare occasions were we able to have one hot of the pan (usually when daddy swiped us one)! We always had to let them cool so we turned to go sit back down when momma said "would you like one from the oven"? We were elated she had poured the ice cold milk and scooped those cookies off that pan onto a plate it was heaven! Momma gave what we thought was the ultimate gift of love for us that night. To this day there is nothing like a warm Toll House cookie coming from the oven on a cold winters night. Although my mom has passed and my sister just a few weeks ago there are treasures stored in our hearts and minds that will forever connect us warm winter cookies straight from the oven. Deb Crouch

I love cookies hot out of the oven.  I would even watch Lawrence Welk (not my favorite) to have some.  LOL

What a great story. Chocolate chip cookies are the best when they are warm just out of the oven.

Cookies and milk - does it get any better?  Appreciation of the simple things is very important and helps us get through the hard times.

I agree with Maryann .... cookies are a year-round treat.    Maybe heating up the oven isn't such a good idea in the summer but some times it's just plain NECESSARY
