So my husband's been out of town for a little over 2 weeks now, and here I am running out of ways to keep our 3 year old somewhat out of my hair. Today is cookie day. We're making chocolate chip cookies to celebrate the return of Daddy tomorrow and the creative outlet for her energy couldn't come soon enough. Plopping down globs of cookie dough on the cookie sheet, and of course eating half the raw dough, was a welcomed stress-defuser. Having weathered every temper tantrum & every flung attitude a 3 year old girl can throw over this 17 day hell, I can tell you this: Children are much like chocolate chip cookies. In small doses, they are tolerable, even quite enjoyable. But in whole batches at a time, they can leave you feeling quite bloated and full of indigestion.

Yes, use baking cookies or other goodies, to entertain your daughters, and sons while DAD is lucky to be away on a trip enjoying his freedom from the family stress that MOM is going-through! Mom can only dream of her trip, while enjoying making memories with her young children, to keep forever!---Cheryl Cheely, Poteau, OK

Chocolate cookies are good for Mom's too!  But so it a break to have a few minutes peace & quiet.  Wink

Quite a story - three year olds can be a handlful.  You seem to be holding up.
