My Mom passed away in Oct. of 2008 from colon cancer.  She was not only the most wonderful Mother a woman could ask for, but also my best friend!  When she married my Dad she did not cook; however, it did not take her long to become a fabulous cook.  My Dad has always been the baker in the family, but my Mom would always help me with baking projects that I wanted to do. I love to cook and bake, so my Mom started buying cookbooks for everything!  I cherish every one she bought me, especially because she always wrote a little note to me on the inside cover of each one.

Last year my boyfriend and I founded a charity, in memory of my Mother to promote colon cancer awareness.  Our largest fundraiser is an annual motorcycle run.  We pay ALL expenses out of pocket, so we can donate all monies to the Warren General Hospital Cancer Care Center in Warren, PA. Last year's event was a huge success.  We are already planning this year's run.

I wanted to do something in addition to the motorcycle run, so I decided to organize a cookbook fundraiser. We will combine cookbooks proceeds with those from the motorcycle run and donate it all to our local Cancer Care Center.  Now all I need are recipe contributions, as well as any other advice to make the cookbook fundraiser more successful.

I created an event on facebook. Please feel free to check it out, comment, and make suggestions.  https://www.facebook.com/events/434757853259156/

I'll be checking in here daily, so any words of wisdom and recipes will be Greatly Appreciated!!
