When I was about 18 months old, or a little older, my Father's Aunt Bertha would come and stay with us, and visit. She was a professional cook.As I toddled around the kitchen, I would watch her in fascination. Often, I would climb up on a chair, and be given a piece of fruit, as she prepared fruit for the pies she would bake. One day as she arrived for another stay, I gave her a big grin, and a hug around her legs, and asked, "Berfa bake a pie?" To this day, as I am approaching the age of 60, its still told at family reunions, and said, when all see me, "Berfa bake a pie?"%0d%0aShe was, and is so loved!
