While grocery shopping my daughter noticed the cake box mix for red velvet cake. I didn't have all the ingredents needed to make it so I told her I would come back. When I returned they didn't have anymore of the mix. I tried other stores. And still couldn't find it. So my daughter and her bright ideas cut from a magazine the receipe for Red Velvet Cupcakes. I had never tried to make cupcakes or cake from scratch. I had always used a mix. But I dicided to try it. They were a very big hit. However now I can't use the box mixes.

I was 11 when I made my 1st cake. It was from scratch. Two yrs later I found out about cake from a box. When I told my mother, she informed me that the mixes had been around for yrs. I sure was surprised, because I had never heard of such before. But the mixes do come in handy sometimes.
