Hi Arnie - I mail cookies to the kids of my church who are away in college and one in the Army.  I assume they arfrive OK because I'm always asked for more.
The college kids will be home for Christmas and each will get a big box of cookies as a welcome home.

When my kids were in college, I had a basket for each of them that I would fill with goodies, or in the case of my son a casserole as he didnn't cook much once he was living in an apartment.  My husband had almost weekly business in Sacramento, so he would drop off the baskets on his way up.  Both of our kids are graduates of U.C. Davis, so it was right on the way.

When my son went away to college he stocked up on all his favorite snacks and ramen noodles.  Those were just in case he missed a meal LOL!  When he came home for Christmas he loaded up on all the leftover cookies to take back with him.  He was extremely popular when he got back with those since we had a lot to send with him.  He did the same thing when he finally got his own apartment but now he has become quite a chef.  Funny how loving to eat is an inspiration to learn how to cook!

When I went to college, it was always close enough to home that it only took2 or 3 hours to travel.  Therefore, I had the goodies at home, courtesy of Mom.

I was never interested in living that far away from home.  I still go over on Sunday - to my parents home.  Even if there are no cookies to take home. LOL

Miss my mom, she died back in 1983 and I still miss her. My daughter moved back to Florida to go to Aviation School, one is in Pinellas Co which is near Tampa and that school does give them the tools when they graduate and it cost less so she transferred. Guess this mom can send her cookies lol. Love ya all!!!!!

My one son went to college about an hour away.  My husband had to go that way to work so sometimes he would stop and put cookies and things in our son's car trunk.  He would tell us where the car was.  My other son went to college four hours away so we would send him care packages.  When both of them came home for holidays, etc. they always went back to school with care packages.
