i remember a very special birthday whenever i open my mother's old betty crocker cookbook because it has cherry juice spilled on the page that she used to make this cake. it was a delight to look at and delicious to eat. i know this cake took a lot of time and effort, but the memory is still with me all these years later.

I was given my husband's Grandmother's hand-written recipe book. The paper is flaking away at the edges and the writing is fading out, so I scanned the pages to retain as much of the original as I can. Most of the recipes are just the ingredients with no directions. Guess she figured everyone would know how to mix ingredients for a cake, etc.

There was a recipe for a cake made with cherry juice and cherries on the old website. I will have to keep searching since my daughter loves "pink" cakes. She's almost 27 now and it's still a request lol.
