MY SON MIKE WANTED AN EASY BAKE OVEN,MANY, MANY YEARS AGO FOR CHRISTMAS. I TAUGHT MIKE TO BAKE, WHEN HE WAS 3. WE STARTED ON COOKIES. I HAD HIM MEASURE, ETC. JUST ANOTHER WAY TO GET KIDS TO LEARN. HE COULD EVEN CRACK AN EGG.HIS OLDER SISTER AND BROTHER WERE LAUGHING ABOUT THE EASY BAKE OVEN. SANTA GOT IT FOR HIM.THE OTHER TWO KIDS AND THERE FRIENDS WAITED IN LINE FOR THE SMALL CAKES.HE MADE HOMEMADE FROSTING FOR THE CAKES. HE DID NOT LIKE THE PACKAGE MIX. WHEN HE RAN OUT OF CAKE MIXES, HE MADE HIS OWN..NOW HE IS 22 , USES THE BIG OVEN AND IS A CULINARY STUDENT. THEY STILL WAIT IN LINE FOR HIS STUFF.HE WILL BE GETTING MARRIED IN AUG.2010. HE AND I WILL BE MAKING HIS CUPCAKE TOWER. WHICH I TALKED ABOUT IN MY OTHER STORIES.I THINK IT IS GOOD FOR KIDS TO LEARN DIFFERENT THINGS IN LIFE. IT IS IMPORTANT. AS THEY WERE GROWING UP , I ALWAYS TRIED TO PUT A LESSON INTO OUR FUN PROJECTS..I STILL DO NOT THINK THEY CAUGHT ON YET...IF YOU HAVE TIME DO SOMETHING FUN WITH YOUR KIDS. I THINK IT IS VACATION WEEK..ENJOY YOUR KIDS WHILE THEY ARE YOUNG. THEY GROW WAY TO FAST...IT IS NEVER TO LATE.

Julie B.I love your stories. Your smart, you teach your kids as they are having fun.Like i said before your a great mom.I'am a teacher on vacation. I always asjk my students to write a brief entry in their journals about the vacation. Some kids write several pages, others nothing. They were olaying video games.Their parents had to work.I understand that, you have to work. Everyone misses out on family time. Thanks for the nice story. It is refreshing to know most parents care. Not judging anyone at all.My parents worked every night,I often ate alone.

You must be so proud to have raised such a wonderful son. Through you he learned his love for baking and will succeed. Thanks so much for sharing.

I'm sure his wife will appreciate the fact that you didn't hold him to stereotypes. Congratulations on raising a well-rounded child
