That sounds like a great snack for the road.  Far better than buying something at a store too.

I lost a dear friend of mine last year to cancer.  We usually travel to OK for Christmas to spend the holiday w/children and grand children.  She would send us out of WI w/carrot muffins and banna bread each trip.  It was so nice to pass the miles away eating her treats.

When we go to National Bowling  Tournments we always drive.
We that something with us for  one meal. I fixed ground mined
ham for sandwiches now I have to fix it all the time. We stop
at rest areas along the interstate and have lunch. That way we
can walk around and get some exercise from sitting so long
in the car.We always have one good meal and save money on
the rest of the meals.

I love road trips!  We always take snacks with us.  Sometimes, we even pack a lunch and have a picnic if we are traveling far.

We haven't been on an official road trip for several years. But when we did take them, we had a full-size van that we had converted with reclining seats, a rear sofa bed, etc. And I always filled a cooler with lunch meats, drinks and baked goodies to help save some money. Good times!

Last summer we went to North Dakota for a wedding.  Before we left I made a couple of sandwiches, packed some snacks and fruit, and a whole case of bottled water.  My husband turned up his nose at the ham sandwiches, until HE got hungry lol.  Saved us a lot of time we would've spent looking for someplace to eat.  Don't think he'll make such a fuss next time.  Maybe for the next trip I'll have to bake some cookies too.

H.M. - can I ask 'where' in North Dakota?  See any sunflowers?  What did you think?
I lived near Minot 3 years and then near Grand Forks for almost 5 years.   I LOVED that state - summer and winter.
