In Response to Re: road trip:
Last summer we went to North Dakota for a wedding. Before we left I made a couple of sandwiches, packed some snacks and fruit, and a whole case of bottled water. My husband turned up his nose at the ham sandwiches, until HE got hungry lol. Saved us a lot of time we would've spent looking for someplace to eat. Don't think he'll make such a fuss next time. Maybe for the next trip I'll have to bake some cookies too.

Years ago we would join hubby's parents at their cottage every summer & since it was about a 3 hr. drive, I would make sandwiches (on burger buns because they were easier for the kids to handle in the car), have drinks, homemade cookies & grapes. One year when the kids were in high school, hubby suggested no sandwiches (well I made tuna salad to have at the cottage in the cooler), there was an accident & construction & after 2 hr. in the car we were less than 1/2 way there, the boys fell asleep & hubby said he was starving (I had the car loaded up & we left about 5 min. after he got home from work so he did not eat anything before we left) I pulled out tuna salad & burger buns(I bought them on sale & packed them for burgers at the cottage)& made him a couple sandwiches. He never suggested no sandwiches again. I even take a bottle of water or juice (I refill my bottles) in the car when I shop because I go to 3 or 5 stores in one trip & I have something to sip on between stores. Saves money, gas & time.
