My mom was the kind of mom who enjoyed baking for us.There was a little girl next door who thought all food was brought home from restaurants and eaten in front of the TV. Until she started spending time with us. Mom made toll house cookies every Thursday. She woud always make sure that she would be there to have those fresh baked cookies with ice cold milk. This went on for a year or so until mom decided that his time she would let this little girl make them with her. When mom said she could help make cookies from scratch the little girl asked..and who is scratch? We laughed and had a good time with it. The little girl grew into a great lady, her name is Annie. Annie now bakes home made cookies with her little girls....yes from scratch.

What a great story and memory.  Passing on baking and cooking knowledge to others is a wonderful gift.

That was a wonderful thing for your Mom to do for a little girl who would probably never have known what a joyful experience cooking could be.  Now her daughters are getting the same benefits.  It is a positive cycle that never gets old.

My friend, Fran's mom taught me a great deal about showing love. My Mom didn't really show us outward affection until we were grown. We knew that she loved us, but she learned this type of reserve from her mom. I love kissing and hugging my children and grandchildren and am a touchy feely person. Smiles get more than frowns and it makes ME feel good too!
