January 11, 2011 ARE YOU HAVING A BLIZZARD TOO?

It is Tuesday evening, January 11, 2011 and we are having another blizzard in New Jersey.  Apparently there are two storms which converged into one and we are being hit again!  What is the weather like where you are?  Are you getting snow, too???

no We got about 4"  I think there will be school today.  My Grandchildren were hoping for a snow day!!

That is the beauty of living where I do.  Valdosta, Georgia is only about 15 miles from the Florida border.  We get cold temperatures and perhaps windy, but no snow!  That is why we got out of Michigan when we could.

It snowed in 49 States yesterday. Florida is the only state that did not receive snow Tuesday January 10, 2011.

Correction it was Tuesday January 11, 2010 when it snowed in 49 States. Florida is the only state that did not receive snow.

"they" told us( Southern N.H). to expect 18" of snow, today.  So far  we have about 4"
In outhern/seacoast Mass,( usually littleto no snowfall as of 0300hrs3"-4"
NorthernMaine hasa40% chanceofsnowtodat; "go figure"UndecidedOur snow is still ( at 6:30AM) coming down steadily( the type that accumulates.We may get that 18" ofsnow after all.Undecided

We got ours late Monday  and early Tuesday -- 4" here, lots more just a few miles north.  Yesterday afternoon heavy wind and bitter cold.
Right now it's 12 degrees .... but NO SNOW

We in FL sympathize with those who must deal with snow as we must deal with hurricanes. I think I prefer snow since you don't have to leave your home as long as you have a well stocked pantry and don't need to go to work. My husband said that if snow arrives in FL we will move further south! Into the OCEAN???

When I lived up North, I loved snow days because I could stay home and bake. Love the smell of homebaked bread and homemade soup on a snowy day.

It's Wednesday morning, January 12, 2011 and now we are getting hit with a blizzard in Massachusetts.  The wind and snow are really blowing now.  Schools have been cancelled and work is closed today.  And we are getting alot of snow!

There is so much snow out there that my dog is not able to get out the door. He can't seem to understand that the storm door just will not open. The radio announcer just stated that we have 18" of snow with more coming and possible thunder storms this afternoon. The plow has not even come down the street. I guess baking is the order of the day!

We had several inches of snow that started  Sunday afternoon.  Here in southeast AR that's a lot, especially since little snow removal equipment is available.  Most folks here are not familar with driving in snow.  The ice can make even four wheel drive vehicles ineffective.

Nope, blizzard over!! We had a nasty mess of snow, sleet, freezing rain, ice and cold rain however on Monday.  YUCK!!!

My prayers are with all of you who are snowbound. I remember my greatest fear was skidding on icy roads, or falling on icy parking lots.
