My son and daughter in law always have a pool-barbecue party on 4th of July. Eveyone brings something sort of a pot luck type thing. I always bring dessert. Usually homemade Ice Cream and cookies etc. This year I e-mailed my daughter-in-law and told her that I would be bringing some ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and brownies.
Today they dropped by to return some borrowed CD's and I told them I had just finished the cookies. They both begged for one just to try. Well, I brought out the whole bag of cookies and they started to "try them". I finally said "just keep those and I'll make some more for the party" They quickly stowed the bag in the car and soon were on their way. I had just cleaned up, so I said to my husband.."I guess I'd better get the mixer out again".
P.S. I really don't mind!!!

By them "trying" nearly all the cookies really is the greatest kind of flatterly in my book. And your feelings match mine, I really don't mind doing extra baking for my son & daughter-in-law, other son, my nieces, nephews, family parties, etc. It's all about the love and I can tell by your reaction to them eating the cookies that's how you feel too. Have a great time at your party (as I will at my sister's) and have a happy 4th!

They are very lucky to have you to bake for them. Cookies are a favorite in our house and the two batches I made the other day are just about gone. I have to make some more too and love the aroma and sampling them as soon as they are cool enough to eat. Happy 4th!!!!

Hope they saved a couple of cookies so the teens can have a little treat from grandma!
