One night the family (mom, dad, 7 kids) were just finishing dinner when mom plopped the big yellow Tupperware bowl full of Nestle Toll House chocolate chip cookie dough on the table, passed out spoons to everyone, and said, "dig in." It was amazing and unheard of to be given carte blanche permission to eat as much dough as you wanted. And for 7 kids who are now adults with children of our own, that is the one food memory from our youth that we all hold dear.

My two daughters both love cookie dough, but when I was growing up ( I am 70 now.) My mom always preached to us we would get worms if we ate raw dough. I can't do it to this day.

I must have been a strange child.  I never really liked to eat a lot of cookie dough.  A little lick on the fingers or spoon, sure.  But I mostly prefer my cookies fresh and hot right out of the oven with a big glass of cold milk.

Like Pat and Bonnie - I didn't eat dough when I was a kid and I still don't.

I lick the spoon, but that's about all the raw cookie dough I can handle. I'm with those who prefer cookies hot out of the oven, or from the freezer.
