My granddaughter wanted something for dessert but there was nothing already prepared.Searching the cabinets we came up with some frosting (vanilla) and nothing else.We decided to make cake from scratch.Wanting color in her creation,we got out the food coloring.In the end we came up with a green cake topped with red frosting.Not necessarily the best looking cake,but it tasted good and she was pleased with the color because she had created it.

It's fun to use food color. I am sure your granddaughter will remember this for a long time.

Kids can be so inventive.  Glad you let her experiment.  Who knows she might become a famous baker!
