What a great idea and a special way to celebrate a birthday. In my family we each have a special cake for all our birthdays, but no one ever requested a giant chocolate chip cookie. I'm going to make one for my brother's birthday and I know he'll love it. Thanks

What great thing to look forward to each year! When my daughter was elementary school age...she's 23 now...we use to take a giant decorated choc chip cookie in for her classes to celebrate her bd. She is an early August baby and would miss the school year bd celebations. This way she got to celebatrate, usually in Sept and all kids loved the treat!

we do the same for my baby brother.for his wedding he told me he wanted a basket of chocolate chip cookies. i made him several types, about 200 cookies in this basket.he said they never had to leave the honeymoon suitte due to the cookies.i 'am not so sure that is the real reason.

I'm aam sure that there are not any leftovers. Sounds like a good swap instead of the usual birthday cake

If it was my brother-in-law's birthday, we'd need to bake 2 giant cookies. He'd eat one for himself, and drink about 1/2 gallon of milk besides.

Great idea!
