I remember learning how to cook by watching my mom. She never used measuring tools at all, it was all by taste, feel and intuition; just like she learned from her mom. Holidays were the best, because the house would smell like cinammon, nutmeg and all those other wonderful scents you associate with Thanksgiving and Christmas. My mom would tie a towel around me to protect my clothes and stand me in a chair so I could reach the counter. There I would watch and stir whatever goodie she was making, plus I was the official "taste tester" making sure everything was edible.

Sounds like we had similar experiences with our mom's in the kitchen. There were four of us children, but I was the one who always was in the kitchen when things were astirring.

Great. That is how a person becomes known for a special recipe when she adds her own TLC
