I never heard of making ice cream from snow, but we used to make homemade ice cream when I was a kid.  We had an old crank machine and we all had to take turns cranking it until the ice cream was done.  It seemed like it took forever, but it was alway worth it.

My father used to make us snow ice cream.  Thanks for the memories.

I think making ice cream is more of a southern tradition.  Even though I now live in Georgia, we never did anything like that in Michigan.

Isn't it funny how much more exciting and fun snow was when we were children?  Now, it just means more work & possible problems.  Sigh

Pat,
You must have read my mind. I remember loving snow as a child, but because of shoveling, and getting to work etc. it lost some of its magic, although snow on Christmas was beautiful and when snow is falling it is like a gift from God.

Oddly enough we never did that.  I do love ice cream, however.

I still love to watch snow falling....Inside with a good book & a blanket and usually with a cat curled up in my lap or close by.  But those times are way too seldom.  That is one more reason that Spring is my favorite season. Smile
