My first Christmas on my own, I invited my family over to spend the evening with us. I had found a recipe for sweet rolls in my Betty Crocker cookbook which could be made into a Christmas Tree. After they baked, filling the small apartment with the blessed aroma of freshly baked bread, I drizzled thin icing over them and decorated them with silver dagrees, red and green decorating sugars. Those trees were the hit of the evening. I was requested to make them every year. It's now been forty years since that tradition started and my daughter makes the trees now. Such a simple treat but so looked forward to every year.
