As my children were growing up I felt like I wqanted to hamething a little bit differentin our Easter time celebration. Oh, we had all the usual, eggs of all sorts sizes and flavors. We had flowers and new clothes, but I still felt lie something was missing. I liked to make cake of different sizes and flavors. I was never a great decorator, but kept trying, which would draw some smiles and even some giggles! But this particular year I felt the need of adding some depth to things. Finally I made a sheet cake.Icut it in half then took one half and cut it in half again. I had a very fluffy icing receipie, and iced in in white and topped it in cocanut. It was pretty impressive. What was more impresive was th reaction of the children. They knew the real cross was not pretty like that, but their reation was " His cross wasn't pretty but now we cansay thankyou with our pretty one." Thank you mamma. It became a tradition to live on in one form or another for a long time.
