When my brother was newly married, he and his wife worked at an old fashioned 'Five and Dime' store, and didn't have a lot of money, so used their employee discounts to get gifts.
Every year, they gave my a cookie jar. Some were odd, and some held very little, but I knew they couldn't afford much and gladly kept each one. Now they sit on my cabinets and make a lovely display. And I do use a few of them on occasion, so they move around in my kitchen.
Even though they were cheap, and oddly colored, I'm a bit sad I can't keep adding to this collection.

Some of the best gits are the ones that don't cost a lot - or anything -- its the love, the thought and the care in picking out the right thing that counts.

It sounds like a lot of love to me.  I bet you smile every time you see them.
