A great tradition to share with your daughter. I hope she continues it when she has her own children.

My son is 6 and I told my husband it is my mission that he will know how to cook. He loves being in the kitchen with me all year long. But he especially loves christmas time when we ice and decorate cookies together, it's our tradition. I also have a 1 year old daughter and I'm sure she'll be sitting right at the table with us this year doing her share lol:)

My daughter-in-law and I "helped" my Grandson make his first ginger bread house last year, and we will do it again this year.  We took lots of pictures, and I plan to take even more this year.  Years from now, those pictures will be priceless (for both of us!).

I remember each Christmas when I was younger me and my mom would get out the christmas music and then we would carry the stuff up from the basement and spend the day putting the tree up and setting out the decorations. We would also bake Christmas cookies and other things.I have 3 kids, son is 12 and daughters are 9 and 7.Hopefully we can start our own Christmas memories like I had with my mom.

Did anyone take pictures while the houses were in progress?  I have some pictures of Children who took my class at our Church and we got pictures of kids with the bag of royal icing in their mouth and not on the house.  Too funny!  The finished houses turned out just beautiful.

Every year I bake a special cake It wouldn't be christmas without the cake. I plan to add a bread this year I don't do much bread as there is only two of us unless the kids come home.
