Each year at Christmas I make peanut butter balls. They are little balls of peanut butter, butter and rice krispies that are dipped in chocolate. This year I made a double batch. I got ill just before Christmas and more or less forgot about some of the special things I usually do at Christmas. Well, today I went to the freezer for something else and found a bag of peanut butter balls that I had made but not had time to dip in chocolate. They had gotten forgotten when I got ill. So, I took them out, dipped them this afternoon, and tonight after dinner I plan to bring them out as a special after Christmas surprise. They are my families favorite candy treat. Most years they do not last even until Christmas. This year we will enjoy them in this fridgid weather we are having.

It's always great to find a leftover surprise after an event.  One Christmas, affter breaking my leg in October,  I was unable to go upstairs.  After Christmas and the kids had departed, my husband hollered down "what are these presents doing here in the closet?"
Needless to say they became some of next years presents.
