In 1986, my dear daughter, Karen, was 8 years old. She and her friend decided to surprise me by baking my favorite cookies....toll house chocolate chip. I had gone to a neighbors on a quick errand. When I returned, she and her friend were sooo excited. Mom, we are baking your favorite. I saw the "evidence" in the kitchen and asked if they had found the baking sheets ok. She said yes and proudly handed me a box of waxed paper. I rescued the cookies and the single sheet of waxed paper from the hot oven thankful it had not started a fire in there. And, yes, the cookies (on the baking sheet) were delicious.
