Growing up in the 50's, it was a very big treat to have my mother's Toll House cookies. As she layed the first batch on the plate she said " you eat the one you touch"; because we liked to turn them over to find the one with the most chocolate chips! Thinking I was funny, I proceeded to touch every one! "Ok young lady, now you have to eat everyone you touched", Mom said and meant it! Well fortunately after the third or forth one she said I'd had enough-I still make my mother's cookies and have told the story to my children and their children.I have always let them look for the one with the most chocolate chips!

To me it seems only natural that any kid hearing that he/she has to eat every one they touch, they are going to touch every one. that is just a given and a lesson we all have to learn at one time or other. With a brother like mine, mom would never have told us that because my brother would see to it the rest of us would not get any. But I love your story.

That is what a typical kid would do. I'd have done the same thing. If only we could go back to the good ole days. Good story

Great sotry. My Mom used to bake cookies and let us eat them for breakfast. My older sister's friends would come over in the morning just to eat cookies. I think we were the only kids in town allowed to have chocolate chip cookies for breakfast. And always, we had to pick the one with the most chips!

What a cute story, but, true for all of us. Mom's cookies are always the best, it was her love that made them taste so great.

What a loving AND smart mother you had! The first chocolate chip cookies I ever remember tasting were baked by my paternal grandmother. To this day, no one else's chocolate chip cookies match that same deliciousness she was able to put into her cookies; not even my own! Thank you for sharing your special memory.

It sounds like there is still a lot of kid in all of us - I would touch them all too, look for the biggest and the most chocolate chips as a lot of the others have mentioned... Lets never grow up.....
