I am happy to see that other people use "leftovers" too. it does make an excellent soup that is interesting. Were there any mistakes?

GRANA here;
I never thought to make this   "special"  soup.
Inever have"leftovers" & always try to have     "planovers"   [ good food re-worked into something else good to eat:
 spaghetti becomes spagheti pie r afritatta, chiil becomes an omelet or taco ( mashed) filling or chili bean soup. baked potatos become quick home fries; mashed potatoes become potato soup; etc etc.

When my boys were in cubscouts many years ago, we would hold a winter carnival day when the boys would enjoy the great outdoors doing different activities to earn different badges.  Everyone who attended was asked to bring in a can of soup which would be all cooked together in one big pot for hours until lunch.  Even though it sounded weird, I have to say it always tasted delicious!  Who would have known! Hobo soup as we all called it was a HUGE hit with the boys who were hesitant at first but usually wanted seconds.n Response to SOUP IN THE POT.:

 Ilove this idea.It reminds me of achildren's story  "STONE SOUP"
Many years ago, therewas a vilage.The people were very poor. The land was very rocky & it was dificult  to grow food  for their families One day an old woman came o the village, She was on a lon gjourney to visit her ailingsister.She knockedon doors, hoping someone would offer her something to eat. at each house the person complained about their own hunger( lack of  food crop-soney soil)The old wman asked if she could gather  a few rocks; and & did so. She bui t a fire & put a BIG pot o water on to boil. She  added salt & some herbs from her pocket and then  put in the rocks,..  The villagers  thought she was crazy; what was  she doing?She explained that she makes stone soup often & that it is s aways delicious!.  She told them the soup gets even better w/the addition of a few veggies or a bone; when they are  available.The people we t ome & returned shortly w/  carrots,potato, nions, even a bone.The old lady cut up these vegetables& added them to the  pot of "soup ,She toldthem hey were al elcometo join her in theevenning for some of the STONE SOUP The  people went home home to feel sorry for hemselves that they had"NOTHING TO EAT".After a few hours there was a wonderful aroma throughout the village.People   returned.bringing bowls &  spoons Some brought loaves of bread; bottles of wine & various sweets to share.Te entire village feasted that day; becausethey stopped being selfish and joined  tgether to make and hare a pot of "STONESOUP"Wink In Response to SOUP IN THE POT.:
