In 1992 I was the single mother of a 6 yr old son. While he was a church with my aunt I decided to try my hand at making a homemade turkey pot pie. My lattice work wasn't the best but it was my first attempt! My son returned home just as I was getting ready to slide the pie into the oven so I had to show it off. His first response was...I'm not going .to eat that. I asked him why did he say that? He said Mom, that pie is yucky! I said now how do you know that? I have never made a homemade pot pie before. He said "I had a vision and in the vision I was told not to eat it because its yucky" Trying to keep a straight face I told him that he should reconsider or envision himself going to bed without supper. He decided to give it a try and loved it!
