Where does the waxed paper go????

My Mother- in -law was instructing my sister -in -law over the phone how to make Poor mans cake.She instructed her to grease the pan and place waxed paper on the inside of the pan to line it then  pour the batter into the loaf pan.She always did it like this to make it easy to remove the baked loaf and greasing the inside of the pan held the waxed paper in place..My sister in law on another occasion decides to make it on her own and fails miserably.She calls my Mother-in-law crying that it was stuck to the bottom of the pan.My MIL finds out that she greased the outside of the pan and wrapped the outside of the pan with the waxed paper! lol ! It just makes you wonder what was she thinking.lol! An "A" for effort though!

It just goes to show that you can't give instructions in too mcuh detail!  You might think that they are clear, but to someone else, well, we will just say that there was room for error! Smile

You can also use parchment paper on the bottom.

It sounds like she was not familiar with baking.  I would think you would know it goes inside the pan and not on the outside.  Oh, well!
