The fourth of July has just passed and some of the grandkids decided to stay for a while with us. Niari Ann is 13 and her friend Chelse was here also. They were looking around the kitchen at the various cake pans we have. When they saw the 3-D car cake pan they just had to make it. I had just bought the pan a week earlier and had not used it yet so I told them to go ahead and make the car cake. I was eager to see what it would look like also. They baked it and took it out of the oven with no problems. Letting it cool was so hard for them, they just wanted to jump right into icing the car cake. One of my grandson whose name is Adrik came down stairs and saw the car cake. It's mine, it's mine he squealed with delight (he is only 3 and loves cars) so Niari Ann decided to let him help her frost the car cake. Adriks mom LeeAnn came downstairs to see what was going on and Adrik had frosting from ear to ear and told her he was "painting" his car. Of course she got the camera and took many pictures of him painting his car. He wanted to drive it around on the floor and of course we said no it was to eat and then he did not want anyone to eat his car. But when "Peapaw" (grandpaw) came in he showed him his cake and they shared a slice of the motor. It was Adriks first attempt at baking but I am sure it will not be his last. We all enjoyed his painted car.%0d%0a%0d%0aI give my mom permission to add pictures of both my sons with any cakes she makes with them. They are Adrik 3 yrs. and Kelly 7 yrs. They really enjoy helping to bake goodies in "memaws" kitchen. Signed LeeAnn Rodriguez 07/14/2009
