Our daughter-in-law mailed my husband cookies for his birthday, and they were very moist and chewy, even though they had been baked and sent through the mail. I kept asking her for the recipe, and she finally gave in and sent it to me, with a note on the envelope: "Inside is something you must keep secret. It has been in my family for many, many years."
I was excited to finally get the recipe that I had been asking about for months...

Recipe for: Jenny's Secret Chocolate Chunk Cookies
from the kitchen of: Toll House
Serves: Paul
- get in car
- drive to Larry's Super Market
- push cart down dairy aisle
- find Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- purchase
- drive home
- follow directions on package

And then she clipped off the instructions from the bag and taped them in parts - and pictures - on a recipe card.

We think of this every time we see the packages in the grocery store!

Your story reminds me of my husband's aunt. When we had family dinners it was always my responsibility to bring pie. Aunt Nini would rave over my pie, "I wish I could make pie crust like yours." I would tell you "you can. Just get Pillsbury All-Ready Pie Crust."
