My 20 year old son has never really had a sweet tooth- except for a few favorites-- chocolate chip cookies and chocolate covered almonds. When ever his birthday rolls around, I always ask him if he wants a cake-- usually he says he wants cookies, but when he does say cake, it is always with no icing- just cake. I usually bake a cake and frost it for the rest of the family, but on his special day, he gets it the way he likes it--plain-- and it is all his, as no one else likes it that way. He is a great son.

Wish I did not like sweets much. I think that is wonderful. The less sugar the better.

This is so good of you. But if it's his birthday the cake should be the way HE likes it. :) :) Maybe the next time you can put some kind of fruit over the cake. Like crushed strawberrries or somethinglike that.
