My son, Jarod, was in high school at the time and he loved to cook dinner. Jarod was making some onion and cheese rolls along with baked chicken. He asked me to run to the store and pick up an ingredient he was missing (my husband was upstairs working this whole time). When I came back (10 min later) I walked in the back door into the kitchen and all I saw was blood all over the sink, counter and floor with a trail leading towards the master bedroom. Hesitantly I followed calling out to whomever was in the house...I find Jarod in the master bathroom tending to his finger that he sliced open while chopping onions. My husband came running down the stairs and said Jarod never said a word. We put a butterfly bandage on Jarod's finger and all went to finish dinner...needless to say we didn't have the rolls. Jarod is now in Medical School and living too far away...but he still loves to cook and bake when he comes home. He will be coming home December 13th for 6 months before heading off to NY for clinicals.

Your future doctor needed to practice on dummies - not his own hands!  Glad he was okay.
