My Grandmother always made the best homemade biscuits. Since she passed on, my Dad has taken to "fiddling" with her recipe to make it "easier". He is the only one who likes this new recipe - we all prefer Grandma's recipe.

One morning while they were visiting, he decided to make his version of biscuits. Well, he got delayed and I decided that I would jump in and make them. I, of course, made my Grandma's original recipe. After we were done eating, he proclaimed that my biscuits were delicious and said, "See, you can't tell the difference!!! Isn't my recipe just as good as Grandma's?"
He had assumed that I had used his recipe. Only my Mother and I knew the difference and we just grinned and giggled all day about fooling my Dad.

I guess Dads are all alike - my Dad seems to have the same attitude! He can never leave an old family recipe alone, always messing around with it try to 'make it better'. Don't they understand that the old family recipe are better just left alone, lol? Ya gotta love em, tho, that's part of what makes Dads special.

Some times it is better to let your Dad think that he has got the best of you. My father doesn't bake at all. I find it noble of your Dad to try his hand at the recipe.
