The woman I babysat for asked me to bake chocolate chip cookies with her kids for a Christmas cookie exchange. The kids were 2 and 5. I was 17 and had baked with my mom and grandmother, but never on my own before. It seemed pretty easy, but I was in for some surprises! The 5 year old told me she knew how to crack an egg so I let her. She squeezed the egg until it exploded all over us! I wasn't really thinking and put all the ingredients in the bowl at once and turned the mixed on. Flour went everywhere. I finally got everything mixed and the little boy lifted the mixer while it was still on and batter flew onto the ceiling. I caught him with his tounge in the batter bowl (with the batter still in it). We got the cookies made and cleaned up before their mom got home. The cookies looked and tasted ok so I let her take them to the exchange. I never told her the story until a few years ago. She said she always wondered what the stain on the ceiling was from.
